These bars taste great! They are like a cookie in bar form. A little low in protein and high in sugar but I suppose that's the price you pay for great taste.
Found the taste and consistency to both be good. Wasn't a super hot day but with these I don't think they will leave a film in the mouth. They are quite liquidy and should be much better than some of the thicker ones that leave you feeling you need a few mouthfuls of water to clean the residue out of your mouth.
It was a little challenging to squeeze out as the packet is long and narrow and the tear off leaves a fairly small hole.
The tear off isn't overly hard to remove though so can be done while running without issue.
Will try a few more on training and a good contender for race day for sure.

I have been really enjoying the Muir Energy gels. The flavour is great. The simple ingredient list is awesome. I like that they are different from most gels on the market. Instead of being only carbs it also contains some protein which I find works well for me, especially for longer runs.

Best gels I've had
Went through 30 of these of both flavors and loved them. Good taste that's not overpowering, great consistency, and no GI issues even when using 2 gels per hour along with a carb drink mix. Would definitely recommend these to anyone looking to fuel their performance.
